The average vehicle is comprised of over 30,000 different parts, counting every part down to the bolts and screws. Thousands of those parts are in constant motion and hundreds are found in the engine. Without the proper lubrication of those parts, wear and tear will dramatically degrade the integrity your engine and its performance. Each vehicle has a specific weight and grade of engine oil required, and it is highly recommended to have the oil level correctly maintained to ensure proper lubrication. In addition to the oil itself, oil filters are equally as important to ensure that any particulate matter and sludge are properly filtered from the lubrication system. Most vehicles need oil changes every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, but it depends on the vehicle and driving habits. For vehicles driven in New York City or any of the 5 boroughs we recommend changing your oil at least once every 6 months. We can check your records and recommend a schedule.
The correct oil depends on your vehicle’s specifications. We use what’s best for your engine — whether that’s synthetic, high-mileage, or manufacturer-specific blends.
It could be. If it’s been too long, your engine may be at risk of sludge buildup or wear. We’ll inspect your oil and advise from there but for greater peace of mind just have an oil service performed.
