More about the Cooling System
Your vehicle’s cooling system is essential to its operation. The engine generates an incredible amount of heat through friction and combustion. Without a functioning cooling system, your car quickly overheats. We’ll thoroughly check your vehicle and accurately diagnose the underlying trouble before repairing. However, we’re glad to share information about the functionality and possible problems. The radiator, for instance, is constructed using many fluid-carrying tubes. It uses fins to get maximum surface air exposure, and a fan also forces air across it. Heat is released into the open air, allowing the coolant to circulate to collect more heat. If the radiator becomes blocked externally by debris, clogged internally by rust, or punctured, it loses its ability to cool. The water pump ensures coolant circulation. If it fails, the cooling process is compromised. A ruptured hose allows the coolant to escape, leaving an insufficient liquid volume for cooling. The thermostat helps regulate temperature by controlling the coolant flow between the engine and the radiator. If it cracks or otherwise stops working, you’ll need a replacement for accurate measurement. Coolant is more than just water. It’s typically mixed with ethylene glycol. This prevents the fluid from freezing when the temperature dips outside or exceeds the boiling point.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQ
If your vehicle has overheated, it’s best not to drive it until it’s inspected. Overheating can lead to serious engine damage if ignored. We recommend that you stop the vehicle immediately and have the vehicle towed to us.
Yes. Coolant leaks often have a sweet smell, while a burning odor could mean fluid is leaking onto hot engine parts.
No. Coolant shouldn’t need frequent topping off. A slow leak, cracked reservoir, or faulty hose may be to blame. This could lead to more serious problems such as an overheating issue or coolant internally mixing with oil both of which can cause engine damage.
Possibly. Some engine codes relate to temperature sensors, overheating, or low coolant. We’ll check the codes to confirm and can perform a full cooling system inspection.
“Outstanding customer service by Daniel and Kelsey! Came in with my water pump leaking coolant on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and they rest assured they were going to be able to fix it. Roy the mechanic worked on the vehicle and did an outstanding job as well. He showed me the work he did and made me feel at ease with the job he did. You get what you pay for at this shop and it’s very well kept. 10/10 recommend.”
